Mr. & Mrs. George Robert Marlowe

Kristina Noel Yelverton and George Robert (Bud) Marlowe were united in marriage on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Albany, Georgia. Mack Beck, cousin of the bride, performed the 7p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of David and Felicia Lewis of Leesburg, GA. She is the granddaughter of Andrew and Ann Wilson of Doerun, GA; Pete and Michelle Lewis of Lake Wales, FL; and the late James and Jewell Yelverton of Bronwood, GA.

The groom is the son of John and Sharon McCombs of Carrollton, GA and Terry and Debbie Marlowe of Georgetown, GA. He is the grandson of Juanita Head Howard of Rome, GA and the late George Head; and Eloise Marlowe Bowerd of Conyers, GA and the late Jack Marlowe.

Escorted by her father and presented in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory satin taffeta A-line, strapless gown with a gathered sweetheart neckline. The dropped and inverted Basque waistline was accented by a lovely pearl and crystal applique. The back of the dress was detailed by a chapel length train and a cascade of covered buttons. In her hair, the bride wore a fuchsia silk flower adorned with crystals and feathers. For sentiment, the bride wore a pearl necklace borrowed from her aunt, Linda Winfree, and pearl and diamond earrings, a gift from her parents. A handkerchief handmade by the bride's great-grandmother, Ida Wilson, was pinned to her kremlin along with a sapphire and diamond ring borrowed from the bride's mother. The bride also wore a white and fuchsia garter. She carried a bouquet of hot pink Olivia roses, white spray roses, champagne chrysanthemums and lemon leaf foliage.

April Davis, aunt of the bride, of Albany, GA was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Morey of Leesburg, GA, and Ivey Foster of Buford, GA, lifelong friends of the bride. The attendants wore black satin ball gowns with an empire waist and illusion halter. They wore pearl and diamond necklaces and pearl earrings, a gift from the bride. They each carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.

Dustin Dougherty, friend of the groom, of Leesburg, GA, served as best man. Groomsmen were Joseph Marlowe and Haven Wiggins, of Buchanan, GA, brothers of the groom.

Haley Marlowe, niece of the groom, was the flower girl. Phillip Marlowe, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer. D.J. Marlowe and Mikey Marlowe, nephews of the groom, were greeters and sign carriers. Porter Blackburn and Colden Chatman, nephews of the bride, were program attendees and bell ringers. A.J. Winfree and Matthew Winfree, cousins of the bride, served as greeters and escorted their grandmother, Ann Wilson, to her seat before the wedding. Ashley Chatman, sister of the bride, of Leesburg, GA served as a greeter and Bride's book attendee.

Linda Winfree, aunt of the bride, of Baconton, GA served as Wedding Director. Rick Winfree, uncle of the bride, of Baconton, GA served as Music Director.

A seated dinner reception, hosted by the bride's parents, was held in the Flint River Ballroom of the Hilton Garden Inn. Musical entertainment was provided by Juwan Wilson of Jai Entertainment. The couple is planning a summer honeymoon and currently resides in Buchanan, Georgia.
