ALBANY, Ga. — Dougherty County Rotary Club members recently collected $500 for the Boston Rotary Club to assist the families affected by the Boston bombings.
Callie H. Walker, public relations chair for the local Rotary Club, said the donation was received by Boston Rotarians and mentioned in their club bulletin.
The message included with the check sent to Boston, said “We raised $500 for your club to use for whatever purposes you deem appropriate to assist the victims of this tragedy... When our city was flooded in 1994, the first relief came from Rotary. We’re continuing this noble tradition confident in the knowledge that this contributions will benefit those determined by your to be most in need.”
