No blunt trauma in woman's death

ALBANY, Ga. — A basic autopsy appears to have eliminated foul play as a cause of death for Britany Comerford, 25.

Comerford's partially clothed body was discovered Monday in a room at Dollar Inn on North Slappey Boulevard.

According to Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler, there was no evidence of blunt force trauma on the body. Fowler said the investigation is awaiting the results of toxicology and histology tests, however, before conclusions are formed.

Fowler also said Comerford's medical records showed that she had undergone open heart surgery in June, which may have contributed to her unexpected death.
