Library plans dessert theater

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Murder’s on the menu Saturday at the Moultrie-Colquitt County Library, but at least it’s for a good cause.

Community leaders will take on different roles — at least one particularly nefarious — at 7 p.m. Saturday as audience members are asked to solve the crime of “Murder, Maestro, Please.” The library is located at 204 Fifth St. S.E.

Also on tap: “to die for” desserts with gourmet coffee and tea, which are being provided as food for thought for audience members. Prizes will be awarded to the individual who figures out the whodunit mystery.

The event is a fundraiser sponsored by the Friends of the Moultrie-Colquitt County Library. The cast of characters includes Barbara Peoples of CRMC as Opera Windbag, radio show co-host; Adelia Ladson of the Moultrie-Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce as talk show producer Clarinetta Fitzgerald; Bill Bishop of Archbold Medical Center as Dr. Bill, radio talk show co-host; Holly Phillips, library director, as Lotta Books, the librarian; Jeff Ophime, director, Colquitt County Art Center, as Earl “Fatha” Hiney, program director; Dr. James Huffman as Jellyroll Goodman, sound engineer; Jessica Huffman as Maybelline Lipgloss, make-up artist; D.J. Armstrong, of Envy Salon Studio, as Gopher Clueless, radio errand boy; Meg Bishop, media specialist at Funston School, as Lena Savoy, program script writer, and Clay Newton, probation officer, as Ace Gumshoe.

Tickets for $25 each are available at the library and at Christian Books & More, 1612 First Ave. S.E. in Moultrie.
