The commission will also discuss encrypted radios for the Dougherty jail funded with SPLOST VI and a recommendation from a commission committee on a Boards Communications Policy.
STATE OF DARTON: Darton State College President Peter Sireno presents his annual State of Darton State College address at 9 a.m. at the college’s Student Center, room 266.
DOUGHERTY SCHOOL BOARD: 6 p.m. briefing, 7 p.m. meeting, School Administration Building at Washington Street and Pine Avenue. Two items the board will discuss are a contract with interim Superintendent Butch Mosely (local activist William Wright has asked to speak on that issue) and a resolution asking to increase compensation for board members. The board will also hear from the Sertoma Club on a new scholarship and hear recommendation from board committees on topics ranging from testing programs to field trips.
PHOEBE HOSPITAL BOARD: The Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Board meets at 11:45 a.m. in the Willson Board Room on the hospital’s main campus.
ALBANY CITY COMMISSION: No meeting this week. The next work session is 8:30 a.m. Aug. 20.
WALL OF GIVING: Albany Technical College Foundation breaks ground at 10 a.m. on its Wall of Giving. The ceremony will be on the campus grounds north of the Nathaniel Cross Health Care Technology Center.
