NEW YORK — Summertime keeps heating up with Leesburg native Luke Bryan set to take the stage at Rockefeller Plaza in New York on Friday.
All summer long, NBC’s “Today” show has featured some of today’s hottest musical artists as part of its Toyota Concert Series. A few artists who have been featured so far include Phillip Phillips, Jimmy Buffet and Michael Buble, with future performances set for Cher and One Direction. Friday, it’s Bryan’s turn.
The country music star from Lee County will entertain with some of his latest hits, including “Crash My Party” from his upcoming album. The lead single was released in stores Tuesday.
In addition, Bryan will perform a song chosen by fans themselves. Voters can go online to the “Today” website and cast their vote for “Country Girl Shake It For Me,” “Drunk On You,” or “Rain Is A Good Thing.” Bryan will perform the winning song during the show — so far, “Country Girl Shake It For Me” is leading the pack.
It’s been a big year for Bryan, and his performance on “Today” further cements his status as one of the most popular stars in the music business today. In April, Bryan was awarded the supreme honor of “Entertainer of the Year” by the Academy of Country Music.
Bryan is currently traveling the country with his Dirt Road Diaries Tour. For upcoming concert dates, visit his website at www.lukebryan.com.
