Intruders shoot Albany man in home

ALBANY — Officers of the Albany Police Department responded to gunfire at 2331 Threadneedle Court late Wednesday, police officials say.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with Carlos Ward, who had an apparent gunshot wound to his lower abdomen, officials say.

Ward reported that around 9 p.m. he answered a knock on the door of his apartment. Two unidentified males then forced their way inside, one of whom then shot Ward, the victim said.

Ward was then transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment, officials say. His condition was unknown Thursday.
