ALBANY — An investigation of a recent structure fire has been ruled as arson. Albany Fire Department investigator Sam Harris said Thursday’s fire at 608 N. Monroe St. had apparently been set deliberately in two separate sections of the home.
Fire crews responded to the blaze at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, officials say. The residence was empty at the time with no injuries reported, firefighters said.
According to Harris, nearby Lincoln Magnate School maintains a video camera system which includes coverage of the Monroe fire site. Harris is working closely with school officials in hope of generating leads, he said.
The APD asks that anyone with information concerning the Monroe Street fire to contact the Albany Fire Department or Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS.
