Mary Lou Phelps Collins
CAMILLA - Mary Lou Phelps Collins, 99, of Camilla died Friday, August 23, 2013 at Camilla Retirement Home in Camilla.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home with interment in Oakview Cemetery in Camilla. Reverend Chad Boyd will officiate.
Born April 29, 1914 in Sale City (Mitchell County), to King David and Mollie Phelps, Mrs. Collins attended school in Sale City where she graduated with honors in 1932. Mrs. Collins had lived in Baconton for many years until moving to the Camilla Retirement Village in 2005. She was an active member of Baconton Baptist Church until her health prohibited her attendance. Mrs. Collins enjoyed entertaining her family and friends in her home throughout her lifetime. Family gatherings were especially enjoyed by her large extended family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Spearman Davis and later married Lee A. M. Collins, who also predeceased her.
Mrs. Collins is survived by nieces and nephews, Mable Neal, Mary Ella Boutwell, Dewey Phelps, Keith Phelps, Gloria Couch, Yates Peters, Karen Patten, King Phelps, Jim Phelps, Mary Sumter, Carol Brock, Sally Gaskins, a great niece, Valerie Green, and friends and caregivers, Charlie Bush and Forrestine Jones. She is also survived by numerous other great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 a.m. Tuesday, one hour before services, at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla.
