Man wounded at station shooting

ALBANY — A 34-year old man was wounded Saturday during a disagreement at a local gas station. Police officials say Kortney Simpson and his acquaintance, Jasper Mack, had argued with two other men in the parking lot of Woodall’s gas, 261 E. Oglethorpe Blvd. at about 3 a.m.

Mack reported to officers of the Albany Police Department that he thought the altercation was finished when one of the other men pulled a gun and started shooting.

The resulting gunfire broke the driver’s side window of Mack’s vehicle, police say, and damaged other parts of the car. Simpson was struck by two of the bullets, officials say. His condition is unknown.

One suspect is described as a short black man, last wearing a burgundy colored hat and shirt. Another suspect was reported to be a short, dark-skinned black man with dreadlocks and a goatee, last seen wearing black clothing, officials say.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS.
