ALBANY — Metro Albany motorists are advised to watch for traffic shifting on Liberty Expressway beginning Wednesday.
Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation will be installing a traffic lane shift for westbound traffic on Liberty Expressway.
Traffic will be shifted to the far right and onto the new temporary ramp. The traffic lane shift is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday if weather permits.
The traffic lane shift is necessary for the contractor to continue work on the interchange reconfiguration.
On Thursday, motorists should note that a temporary traffic signal located at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Liberty Expressway will be placed in the flash mode for one week.
The traffic signal is scheduled to be fully operational by Dec. 12.
