ATLANTA — Albany Attorney Tommy Coleman was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Council of School Board Attorneys (GCSBA) at a meeting of the Georgia School Boards Association on Thursday.

Coleman, who is a partner with Perry and Walters, represents school systems in Dougherty and Baker counties.

The GCSBA Board of Directors is made up of nine school board attorneys throughout the state who review legal issues facing school systems and provide training for school board members, superintendent and other school board attorneys.

Coleman has represented the Dougherty County School System for more than 18 years and also represents 27 cities and counties throughout southwest Georgia. He is the former Mayor of Albany.

Last summer, Coleman was inducted into the Georgia Municipal Association Hall of Fame.
