Reduced-price tickets for Wanee Music Festival on sale

Early-bird Wanee tickets include free primitive camping

LIVE OAK, Fla. — Looking for the perfect gift for the hard-to-please music fan on your list?

Act quickly, and you could land a gift that’s sure to spread joy: early-bird tickets to the 2014 Wanee Music Festival here. The three-day general admission tickets for the April 10-12 festival, which will mark the 10th anniversary of the Allman Brothers Band-hosted event, are available through Thursday for a reduced price of $175. Tickets will be available online at http://waneefestival.tickets.musictoday.com/WaneeFestival/calendar.aspx.

But event sponsors warn that the early-bird tickets are limited and will most likely sell out before Thursday’s 6 p.m. cutoff deadline.

Lineup for the 10th anniversary festival, which will be held as it has for the past nine years at the Spirit of Suwanee Music Park near Live Oak, Fla., will be announced soon. But Wanee regulars know they can count on one given: headlining shows Friday and Saturday nights by the Allman Brothers.

Two popular elements of last year’s Wanee fest will return for 2014: The Wanee Wednesday Happy Hour April 9 that will feature “appetizer” performances by several acts, and the “Art That Feeds” food drive conducted in conjunction with Conscious Alliance. Attendees who bring at least 20 non-perishable food items will receive a free concert poster.
