Allison J. Cannon
ALBANY - Mr. Allison J. “A.J.” Cannon 91 of Albany died Sunday, December 08, 2013 at his home.
His funeral service will be Wednesday 11 AM at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors with interment at 3 PM at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomas County. Rev. Randy Spicer will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6 to 8 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.
A native of Waycross, Mr. Cannon had lived in Albany since 1959 and was a member of Palmyra Road United Methodist Church. He worked with Farmer’s Product Company in Thomasville, Spartan Mobile Homes and Detroiter Mobile Homes here Albany before owning and operating Cannon’s 66 Service Station at Jefferson and Philema. After the service station he owned with Flint Coach Company.
Mr. Cannon was a U. S. Army veteran, loved working in his garden, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents James A. and May Bell Simmons Cannon, his wife Geneva Carter Cannon, a son, Larry James Cannon and a grandson, Billy Kincheloe.
Survivors include his children Patty Ragan, Albany; Allison Gene Cannon, Americus; Ruby Howell (Wayne), Albany; Joe Cannon (Nina), Leesburg; Wilbur Cannon (JoAnn), Albany, Faye Cassleberry, Cuthbert; Edna Kincheloe (William), Albany; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
