ALBANY - Funeral services for the late Ms. Fulvia Juacinta Thomas, 57, 1722 Malone Drive, Apt B, Albany, Georgia who departed this life Sunday, December 8, 2013 at her residence will be held Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. from the Union Baptist Church, 214 East Oglethorpe Blvd with Pastor, Rev. Dr. John A. Severson, officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, 200 Cotton Ave. Albany, Georgia. Her remains will lie in state at the church Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. The family of Ms. Fulvia Thomas will receive relatives and friends at 205 Manchester Drive, Albany, Georgia. Meadows Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
Fulvia Juacinta Thomas was born February 16, 1956 to Bettye Corbett Thomas and the late Rudolph Thomas Sr. in Albany, Dougherty County Georgia.
She attended Dougherty County Schools and graduated from Monroe High School in 1974. Additionally, Fulvia attended Albany State University and majored in Early Childhood Education. She was employed in the Dougherty County School System at various elementary schools as a Paraprofessional for twenty-two years.
Fulvia was an active member of Union Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. John A. Severson. She participated in the Nurse’s Aide ministry, hospitality, Bible study, and Sunday school ministry.
Fulvia leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted daughter Kislyn Tahisha Thomas, Eden, North Carolina, a grandson Daeshawn Rashard Thomas; mother Bettye Corbett Thomas; two sisters Stephanie (Hamid) Ghobti- Taheri of Brown Sumitt, North Carolina, Vontressa (William) Childs; four brothers Cedrick (Miranda) Thomas , Rudolph Thomas Jr., Anthony (Julie) Thomas, Alfred (Chandra)Thomas; two aunts Claudia Bell Little, Doris (Lon) Carey; two uncles Willie B. (Carlene) Corbett Jr., William J. Corbett; godparents Johnnie Mae (Ervin) Campbell; Nephews Davontaye, Jason, William Jr. (D.J.), Darrius, Kentrell, Adrian; Nieces: Tarsha, Rhon Kilsha, Natale, Sharnice, Latoya, Persia, Tamia, Tamiya, Cemirra, Cemiya; a host of cousins, Union Baptist Church family and a host of sorrowing friends.
