Virginia Long Brooks
BLAKELY - Mrs. Virginia Long Brooks, 96, formerly of Edison, Ga. died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at Phobe-Putney Me-morial Hospital. Her funeral will be held Monday afternoon, Dec. 23, 2013 at Enterprise Baptist Church, Edison, Ga. at 3 PM with Rev. Jackie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Enterprise Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the sanctuary from 2 PM up until funeral time at 3 PM. Pallbearers will be Gene McDonald, James McDonald, Todd McDonald, Randall Richardson, Tim Ingram and Phil Monfort.
Mrs. Brooks was born Jan. 26, 1917 in Calhoun County, Ga. to the late Benjamin Franklin Long and Alma Landrum Long. She was a homemaker and a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church.Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas “J. T. ” Brooks, 2 sons, Charles Nelson Brooks and James Franklin Brooks and all her siblings.
Her survivors include a Granddaughter, Jacqueline Brooks-McDonald of Orlando, Fl., 3 Great Grandchil-dren: Gene McDonald & Dora of Gainesville, Fl., James McDonald & Nakia of Gainesville, Fl. and Kimberlee McDonald of Oldsmar, Fl. and 1 Great, Great Grandchild, Kaelob McDonald of Gainesville, Fl.
