— Season of Light: Thronateeska Heritage Center. This planetarium show explores the reasons humans are so fascinated with light during the December holiday season. It’s an exploration of the astronomical meanings behind seasonal traditions, including the “Star over Bethlehem.” Admission is $3.50 plus tax; show times are 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Hours of operation coincide with the Science Museum.

— Santas Around the World: View over 2,500 figurines, sculptures, paintings and crafted forms of Kris Kringle at Thronateeska Heritage Center Science Museum. Exhibit featured until Jan. 4. Admission is free.



Cubs Program: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Wildlife Theatre, Chehaw, 105 Chehaw Park Road. Cost: $4 The Cubs program is designed for 3- and 4- year olds to get some “paws” on experience with animals. Each program includes an animal encounter, a zoo trip, a story and a snack. Program pricing is only $4 in addition to park and zoo admission.


New Year’s Eve Bash: 7:30 p.m., Nelson-Tift Building at 226 West Broad Ave. Albany Humane Society hosts “The Fur Flyin’ New Year’s Eve Bash” which will feature hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, raffle and entertainment by Relapse. Tickets are $50; for more information call, (229) 888-PETS.



Christmas in Lights Drive-Through Display at Flowers: 6 to 10 p.m. daily through Dec. 31, Flowers Foods Corporate Offices, 1919 Flowers Circle, Thomasville. Annual Christmas In Lights display features two nativity scenes, a Victorian village, an animated train, Santa poised on an upstairs balcony and other scenes outlined in thousands of lights and holiday music will be piped throughout the drive-through display. More than 100 entries by Georgia amateur and professional photographers are a part of this exhibit depicting everything there is to love about rural Georgia-old barns, dusty roads, vintage tractors and country sunsets.
