Derryl Wayne Walker
SYLVESTER - The funeral services for the late Mr. Derryl Wayne Walker of Sylvester, Georgia, who departed this life on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Phoebe North Hospital in Albany, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. from the New Hope Baptist Church in Warwick, Georgia, with the pastor, Reverend Tiller Sims, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Oakfield, Georgia.
Derryl Wayne Walker was born on February 10, 1962 in Worth County, Georgia.
At an early age, Derryl joined New Hope Baptist Church of Warwick, Georgia. He was also a member of the Fantastic Roman Bells gospel group as a drummer for 16 years. Occasionally, He played for the Glory Bound Gospel Singers.
Wayne was educated in the Worth County Public School System. He worked numerous jobs, but his passion was Farming, He loved driving tractors, planting vegetables, and watching them grow.
He leaves to cherish his legacy his son, Joshua Walker of Sylvester, Georgia; a special and caring friend, Deidra Bass of Sylvester, Georgia; three caring brothers, Roosevelt (Carrie Jean) Walker, Jr. of Poulan, Georgia, Eddie Fred (Janet) Walker of Clearfield, Utah, Chester Roger (Irma Jean) Walker of Sylvester,Georgia; four loving sisters, Luenell (Carzell Sr.) Harris of Albany, Georgia, Bernice Hall of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Evelyn (Raymond) Hall, Felma (Lonnie) Murray, both of Sylvester, Georgia; three aunts, Willie Mae Walker of Warwick, Georgia, Lilly Mae Swain, Margaret Wright, both of DeSoto, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. But most of all he leaves behind his best friend for life, Eric Marlin.
