CAMILLA - Lottie Mae Burnett Connell, 81, of Sale City died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28 at Sale City Baptist Church with interment in Sale City Cemetery. Rev. Tim Bozeman will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Lee Glenn, Patrick Norman, Tony Norman, Ronnie Hatcher, Dan Connell, and John Itson.

Born October 16, 1932 in Lydia Mills, S.C., she was the daughter of the late John and Minnie Nix Burnett. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Burnett, her sister, Lou Kitchens, and a step-son, Mickey Connell. After growing up in Joanna, S.C., she married Earl Connell in 1961. They moved to Sale City, GA in 1970, where Earl began farming. She owned and managed Uh-Oh’s Clothing Store in Camilla for years and also worked as a bus driver for Ravenwood Academy. She was a member of Sale City Baptist Church and was an exemplary Christian. She loved the Lord and was well-known in her community for her positive attitude, strength of character, and friendliness. It has often been said that Lottie “never met a stranger” and was always willing to help anyone in need. This special lady is best known as a loving mother and grandmother. But her love didn’t stop there, she was deeply loved by her nieces and nephews who saw her as a mother figure. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Carl Earl Connell of Sale City; one daughter, Gina Bailey and husband, Ray, of Albany; two sons, Scott Connell and wife, Kelli, of Sale City and Jeff Connell of Sale City; two step-daughters Fran Trulock of Bainbridge and Libby Prince of Bainbridge; six grandchildren, Lunden Connell, Daylon Connell, Xach Nunez, Presley Bailey, Grayson Bailey, and Relic Bailey; a step-grandson, Hayes Wade; and six nephews in South Carolina.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Friday, December 27 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla.
