SYLVESTER, Ga. -- A 10-year-old student is being charged with making terroristic threats or acts in connection with a series of bomb threats that disrupted class at Worth County public schools and prompted several evacuations.
Lt. Ronnie Graddy of the Sylvester Police Department said that the juvenile is believed to have written the message at Worth County Elementary School on Wednesday that prompted school officials to evacuate the school.
School officials and police evacuated schools in Worth County five times over a two-day period. Police had previously announced the arrests of five other students, including a 16-year-old, in connection with the threats.
The father of one of the students was also charged with disorderly conduct after causing a disruption at one of the schools when his child was arrested.
Graddy says that the investigation is continuing and that more arrests could be pending.
