ALBANY — Monroe High School Assistant Principal Joey James' teaching certifications have been revoked by the State Professional Standards Commission and he faces a termination hearing before the Dougherty County School Board on Wednesday.
2. Five charged in Worth County bomb threats
SYLVESTER — Five juveniles and one parent have been charged in connection with a series of bomb threats that have disrupted school in Worth County this week.

ALBANY — With three members absent, the Dougherty County School Board voted 4-0 Wednesday at a disciplinary hearing to terminate the contract of Monroe High School Assistant Principal Joey James.

5. Firm to propose closing Dougherty Middle, Sylvester Road schools
ALBANY — Dougherty County Schools Interim Superintendent Butch Mosely confirmed Friday that the School Board will hear a presentation in which Atlanta education consultants Kimly-Horn will suggest that Dougherty Middle and Sylvester Road Elementary schools be closed and that Magnolia Elementary be repurposed.

7. Farm broker gets sentenced to prison
ALBANY — Guilty of four financial felony counts, Joseph Wiley Jordan, 64, of Albany, must report to prison on a 15-month sentence with two years of supervised release after the incarceration, said a U.S attorney reported.
