We did such a great job voting for you know who that who knows whether we might make make worse mistakes with folks we know even less about, if that is possible!

Do you really want more campaign adds during election time?

Yes many of us will regret that You-Don't-Know-Who was re-elected for a long, long time. As in the rest of our natural lives.

Why not make all laws simple, where ever Citizen can understand them. No need for interpretation, or statements of what was really meant by the law. The fact that there are so many appeals shows that the current laws are so confusing, not even all the Lawyers and Judges can agree on what they mean. If we elect Judges to the Supreme Court, how long will it take folks to figure out they want the individual that will give them the most, not really the best individual for the job. Make murder, the taking of a life. Not confuse the issue with the premeditated, manslaughter, etc. All this does is muddy the waters and gives jobs to Lawyers. Simple laws, simple verdicts. Complex laws, and you have the mess we now have.

The world is complex and we are sophisticated to understand the nuances and special circumstances that take place. For instance, you said "Make murder, the the taking of a life". Let's think about Moses, who was a murderer, did God command his life be taken? Then what about the battered wife, who in a moment of rage, killed her husband. However, the circumstances weren't for self-defense, but rather anger for the abuse that she took over the years. In that case, she should be convicted of murder, but does she deserve life? Especially, if the man was despicable. We have evolved as a people and society and the days of hangings for offenses are over.

Jeez, Walt, it would become harder to pass a law than it is to pass a budget, if one can imagine that! Talk about a "cluster" of epic proportions. Read the posts on the Herald site, or some of the articles, and go figure if some of these people could be made to understand the simplest of issues.

It's because the Founding Fathers were brilliant in drafting the U.S. Constitution. They wanted to set up a republic where our elected representatives would have the power to do that. Plus, why would you want to politicize the judicial process more? It's bad enough that people vote for court justices at the local and state level. Forcing judges to raise money and campaign will make them more susceptible to being influenced by special interests. Learn to embrace your U.S. Constitution!

How far can a Progressive government go with control? I have a friend up north who inherited a small farm from an Uncle with no descendants last year. The IRS is claiming the farm because, according to them, when the Uncle inherited, the taxes were not done properly. The deceased Uncle inherited the farm in 1941. What possible defense could you bring for something that happened in 1941. His lawyers have already told him that IRS is going to win as they cannot produce a response. The progressive government aim is to control long enough via giveaways to the uninformed voters until they slam the lid down. The uninformed voters will be cleaned up and/or cleaned out and the rest of us are in a feudal system.

Goodness what a shame. I inherited a farm a few years ago and my uncle decided to stop paying taxes, both state and federal many years ago because he felt, in his words, the government was full of "a bunch of lying cheating bastards" and of course he was right. His estate owe a tax bill over $350,000 and the CPA's hired to handle the tax matter got the bill down to approximately $40,000. Don't know how they did it because I don't know anything about taxes but it was apparently OK because the estate was settled. Seems to me someone is trying to cheat your friend out of the farm. I knew some old bachelor homesteaders in North Dakota (6 brothers who each had 160 acres they put together to form a single farm) and someone in the IRS tried to cheat them out of their muti-million dollar farm. Can you imagine what farmland in ND is worth? I think I would fight this until I had taken my last breath. That is just me tho. There is someone out there who will be willing to listen.

One might argue that you cheated the government out of approximately $310k. What is the difference between you and someone milking the welfare system? It's wrong as long as someone else is doing it, right?

1

agirl_25 1 year, 9 months ago

Talk to the administrator of the estate, don't cry on my shoulder. I don't make the rules now do I and I was not the one who hired the CPA firm did I? You seem to be always on the defensive don't you, everytime someone makes a comment that blocks your lower bowel. May I suggest you climb down off your high horse and get a life or in your case, you seem more the shetland pony type....you know the the type that has to walk in UNDER the swinging saloon doors rather than thru them. Have a nice day, Mr. Grumplestilskins. Or is that asking too much?

1

Sherwood_Eagle_Alum 1 year, 9 months ago

So then how is the welfare mom who "didn't make the rules" any different? I am simply playing devils advocate, honey, don't get your panties in a wad.

agirl_25 1 year, 9 months ago

Well normally I don't waste my time on little people like you Sherwood, but in your case I will make an exception. I made a comment to Red's comment and suddenly you step in and you equate me with a welfare mom milking the system because a CPA firm hired to handle my late uncle's estate did some creative accounting and saved me some coin. So now it comes down to name calling huh? Didn't they teach you anything in that Bible school about basic manners? If I had time I would school you on some of the aspects of what it means to be a decent human being but I see you are too far gone so I suggest that when you get up in the morning you pull out the elastic in your jammie bottoms, reach down and dangle your fingers and see if you per chance have a pair, and if not, try to grow some. Stop trying to be so damn clever all the time and making such snide comments for they are not funny, in my opinion. One more thing, if you are overly concerned about the methods used at tax time by CPA firms I give you a case to ponder....that of Phil Mickelson, the pro golfer and Mitt Romney, the one who ran for President....both are milti-millionaries......one made over $48 million last year and has a tax rate of nearly 50%...he earned the money by working for it. One made his money thru investments, mostly thru capital gains and had a tax rate of about 14%. Guess which is which? You knew nothing about the circumstances of my uncle's estate yet jumped in to equate me with a welfare mother. Who is "milking the system like the welfare mother"... you big mouth? I rest my case. Oh one more thing before I go...

"Essentially, the (federal) policy is this: If you have income from capital, we're going to tax it at a preferential rate," Joseph Newpol, a professor of law, taxation and financial planning at Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.,stated. " The government's rationale for that lower capital-gains tax rate, he says, is "to encourage people to invest in stocks, bonds and things like that because that's good for the economy, it creates jobs."

Told ya Bible boy, I don't make the rules....neener neener...........bite me.

PS. Romney is worth ovr $260 million........forgot that..

0

Sherwood_Eagle_Alum 1 year, 9 months ago

What does any of that have to do with you getting out of $310k in back taxes your family owed?

I am not saying I would have done any different, but I am not the one bashing welfare moms who are doing nothing differently from what you did.

0

agirl_25 1 year, 9 months ago

My god, you are stupider than I ever gave you credit for, with your church school education you are so proud of. First you equate me with a welfare mom and imply I cheated the government out of money because THE CPA FIRM HIRED BY MY UNCLE'S ESTATE ADMINISTRATOR HAPPENED TO SAVE A LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY OWED IN FEDERAL AND STATE TAXES and then rather than admit you made a damn fool of yourself you refuse to take your foot out of your mouth and admit you were wrong. Once again you make an even bigger fool of yourself by your next statement. Now you imply I am bashing welfare mothers. Good lord man, get a life. By the way, this is the last reply from me, for I waste no more time on fools such as yourself. As I said before, Mr. Grumplestilskins, have a nice day in whatever universe it is you live in. Must suck to think you are perfect, huh, but to find out you are a fool. Nice laughing at 'ya.

Foolish thinking on your behalf, if you think the President makes the decision on his own.

If the Republicans found a black man who lies as good as Obumma it would be a good fight. Oh ya & hand out free bees to everyone to lazy & useless to work.

1

Somebody 1 year, 9 months ago

I agree! It wasn't lies that kept Romney from winning, it was his lack of lies that kept Romney from winning. If Romney was better at telling lies than Obama was, then Romney would be our president.

They found one black lady, a black man, a jew and a bunch of Texans. Their names are W, Turd Blossom, Cheny, Rummy, Wolfie, Condie and Colin. They lied so good the majority of the democants and the country bought it. That's why we're paying for two needless wars, an avoidable banking catastrophe and a tax cut for the uber rich and we think we're patriotic for cursing the dumb dumb in the WH.
