Unidentified man sought by police for questioning

ALBANY, Ga. — The Albany Police Department Motor Vehicle Theft Unit would like the public’s assistance with locating a yet-to-be identified individual in connection to a vehicle theft.

The person is wanted only for questioning in a motor vehicle theft that occurred on Jan. 11 at 2:40 p.m., officials with the APD said Monday. The victim reported that some unknown person took the vehicle — a 2001 GMC Jimmy — from 1601 Krug St., the site of A&D Rebuilders.

A cell phone, which was inside the vehicle, was also taken, police said.

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department responded to at least 68 incidents on Saturday, Sunday and into the early morning hours of Monday, available reports show. The incidents included:

— Battery on the 400 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Burglary in the 1st degree on the 500 block of 10th Avenue and on the 400 block of Jefferies Avenue;

— Confinement of animals on the 600 block of Willard Avenue and on the 600 block of North Harding Street;

— Theft by taking on the 2700 block of Sylvester Road and on the 400 block of West Whitney Avenue;

— Domestic dispute, vandalism on the 400 block of Vick Street;

— Criminal trespass on the 500 block of West Mercer Avenue and on the 1100 block of University Street;

— Simple battery on the 2000 block of Palmyra Road and on the 700 block of East Broad Avenue;

— Motor vehicle theft on the 900 block of North Davis Street and on the 2700 block of Dawson Road;

— Entering auto on the 1400 block of Eighth Avenue and on the 2400 block of Brierwood Drive;

— Theft by shoplifting on the 2800 block of Nottingham Way;

— Driving under the influence on the 1300 block of East Third Avenue;

— Leaving the scene of an accident on the 700 block of East Broad Avenue;

— Saggy pants on the 300 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard and on the 700 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Wanted person on the 200 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Domestic dispute (unfounded) on the 200 block of Cone Street and on the 300 block of Carriage Lane;

— Stalking on the 2600 block of Dawson Road;

— Burglary in the 2nd degree on the 1200 block of Clark Avenue and on the 2600 block of Sylvester Road;

— Failure to appear warrant on the 2300 block of North Slappey Boulevard and on the 900 block of 15th Avenue;

— Driving on a suspended license on the 1000 block of Oakridge Drive and on the 2200 block of Habersham Road;

— Domestic dispute on the 600 block of North Cleveland Street and on the 700 block of Dorsett Avenue;

— Assault on the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue and on the 500 block of Cedar Avenue;

— Disorderly conduct on the 1400 block of Greenbrier Court and on the 400 block of North Slappey Boulevard;

— Missing person on the 2700 block of Dawson Road;

— Recovered property on the 2200 block of Taft Street;

— Property damage, assault on the 600 block of Sands Drive;

— Misrepresentation of age on the 700 block of East Broad Avenue.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: The Dougherty County Police Department responded to at least 45 calls Saturday and Sunday, available reports show. The incidents included:

— Auto accident on the 3300 block of Sylvester Road and on the 2100 block of South County Line Road;

— Burglary on the 3000 block of Sylvester Road and on the 2800 block of Banks Avenue;

— Family violence on the 3400 block of Aristedes Road;

— Accidental damage on the 3300 block of Sylvester Road;

— Traffic arrest at the intersection of Newton Road and Higgins Drive.

ALBANY FIRE: The Albany Fire Department responded to at least 20 calls from Friday through the early hours of Monday, available reports show. The calls included activated fire alarms, kitchen fires, an authorized controlled burn, vehicle accidents and EMS assistance.
