I imagine an anonymous tip to local law enforcement would do the trick.
I have a question I would like to ask the Squawkbox picker: Why did you pick this squawk? Were there no other squawks worthy of gracing this fine website?
Come on guys throw out a better one......
OK...let me throw out my own squawk... I have 2 businesses downtown and according to my employees we have seen Aaron one time.. that was to advise them they would have to walk a block and a half to empty our trash behind the Cookie Shoppe in the alley (real safe place).... I agree that Aaron has a great project.. we have no real places to window shop after lunch..when Goodwill left we lost many people that came downtown.. also Modern gas...aunt fannies

Aunt Fannies...etc...I loved do
Downtown Bank of America is leaving also either this month or next. I got a letter to that effect about 3 or 4 months ago. I used that bank, I liked it better than the one across from the mall.
Ok dicky, which squawk are you going with?
Sorry bout the double posting... but love downtown Albany and have made money there but don't try to sugar coat the future... the government gobbled up the heart when they took over the 200 blocks of broad and pine... not Aarons fault..
Aaron is who? The rent-a-center? That is the only Aaron that pops in my head.
Years ago my mother lived next door to one. She was a white woman who worked at the Monkey Palace and dealed to white kids in fine cars. Cream of the crop. A cop stopped on the street and we were talking as I was walking and I mentioned it to him. He said to me and I was shocked, which is hard to do, oh, we know about her, but she is so low leveled it is not worth the effort to bust her. So I made it a point to never ever call about drug pushers again, because to me it was obvious someone had paid off the right folks.
Just look at the people in the last 10 years caught with substantial amounts of chemicals and pot who never were brought to court must less thrown behind the pipes. But we should not be surprised. Look at the judges conduct in GA, their behavior as the third leg of the culture as well as their personal lives. Federal Judge Jack T. Camp from Newan received wrist slap for felony firearms, drug use, drug purchase charges. Judges locally have never felt the impact of justice for beating up a wife or girl friend. Look at our illustrious local federal jurist who refuses to send a Camilla pharmacist to prison even though he was convicted on 69 counts of medicaid fraud for stealing millions of dollars from the taxpayers. Why should these cretans fear being reported for their misbehaviors. Going to court is just a fraternity meeting.
One would assume it is any good Citizens duty to report all illegal activity. This don't snitch stuff only benefits the lawbreakers. You won't have to testify, and you will be making your home safer by having the drug activity move elsewhere. If more people refused that really good price on something off the street, or acted just a little bit like you cared about what your neighborhood is becomming, the City, County and State might not be in the dire straights they are in. Of course the jails wouldn't be any fuller, because there isn't any room, and crooks would have to turn to more strongarm type theft. Then again with the increased CCW folks out there armed all the time, maybe the world would have a few less crooks. Or we could make it just too expensive for crooks to be crooks, but that isn't going to happen.

When my son was in the second grade, he was invited into my neighbor's home by her son. When he got into the house, the neighbor's child pointed to some "gold rocks" and told my son not to touch them. They were his momma's special rocks. When our son told my spouse and me about the rocks we knew what they were. But we let him make the decision about what to do. Our second grade son came home from school a couple of days later and said that it was not right, please call the police. I was very proud of him---we called the cops and the neighborhood drug dealer was arrested and jailed.
Unless you're a fan of the most vile part of the Rap game (please don't use that as a criticism of all Rap music or any particular culture or ethnic group), you call the law. Basically follow the directions of the person above who gave the phone number, and we can all move on to tomorrow's squawk.
I have some opinions I would like to share:
The DCSS should close those schools. Sorry, East Side, but this is a RESULT of the struggling side of town, not the CAUSE of it. Your children will be in better school buildings, and the DCSS will save money that can be spent in other areas. It's win-win!
Complaining about receiving mail only five days a week is like complaining that there aren't enough VCR repairmen, or that you can't find a pay phone. We receive and pay bills online, communicate with email and texting, and even read newspapers and magazines online. You aren't required to keep up with technology advances, but it will be inconvenient for you.
No one has said "repeal the Second Amendment," so as much as you love to make the "cold, dead hands" comment, it isn't necessary and everyone else is tired of hearing it. Please keep your guns - the people coming for them exist only in your head.
The Congressman who wants to eliminate term limits for the President has been trying to do so every two years since the mid-90s. Did you complain (or even notice) the four times it was suggested while Bush was in office? Or is that like fiscal responsibility, over-spending, raising the debt ceiling, trading arms to the bad guys, making speeches from a tele-prompter, having children attend a bill signing, taking vacations, and traveling - these weren't issues until January 2009.
Remember when the world hated America? We started wars on a hunch, without congressional permission, and then blackmailed Congress to keep them going. Obama received the Nobel Prize just for not being Bush.
President Cheney ignored the Constitution and we lost rights in the name of The Patriot Act, and keeping us safe from terrorists. That must be because he was spending money on guns, tanks, and people to make airline passengers remove their belts before boarding. Imagine the uproar if he had tried to spend our money to keep us healthy and educate us!
Thank you Patrick, for recognizing Cheney as our 43rd POTUS.
Noone has said they are trying to repeal the 2nd Amendment. They can't. The are, however, doing their best to cripple it. If you are not a gun owner, then don't worry about it. We'll handle it.
Name a war that was started without Congressional approval. You might want to try Google. Talking points don't work and make you look dumb.
I never liked Bush/Cheney, and I liked them less after the Patriot Act was created. Your guy not only reinstated it (That's right. It was set to expire), but made it permanent. AND strengthened it to give himself even more lattitude to control the herd. You just seem to be one of the sheep that doesn't mind or understand. We are all now droneable.
You do make Spongebob look smart.
Obama took us into Libya without congressional approval.
Does calling me stupid make you feel smart? Is name-calling what you do in lieu of intelligent conversation?
Yes, lots of people are claiming that the Second Amendment could be repealed. We could make a long list of politicians whose scare tactics included "Obama will take away your guns." If you don't have any ideas, just scare people into voting for you - a strategy that thankfully must not work.
Congress authorized military force in Iraq, which turned into "invade any country where something smells fishy" in the name of the War on Terror. They didn't need facts or evidence - assumptions and lies sufficed. Those who didn't want to continue funding the war must not love America, or support the troops.
Obama doesn't get the same passes as Bush, and I'm not claiming it's racial. It's a tense political climate that worsens with every broadcast of the nightly news. Can you imagine the response if Obama had landed on the deck of an aircraft carrier wearing a flight suit claiming "Mission Accomplished"? What if Obama had ignored reports of the impending 9/11 attacks? What if Obama was as poor a public speaker as Bush?
Argue some of the details, but you cannot argue that the rules changed when Obama took office. Claiming otherwise simply isn't true.
It was Wayne La Pierrer who said that "somebody in jack boots was coming to the front door of your home to disarm you". No one in government has ever made that claim. I guess Wayne spreads fear and intimidation through 4 million followers, who like union workers pay their dues and get little in return in how they are represented.
Do as I did, get the tag numbers of the cars that come to get the drugs. Call the drug unit, they will put surveillance on the house, without anyone knowing. I called on my neighbor, not snitch, but I have young kids and I didn't want to hold them hostage in my own house. When the users were showing up to get the drugs, I called and told them they were at the location, within minutes the forces were there arresting them. You can turn them in now, or wait for a drug deal to go bad and hope you or your family is not hurt.
Hey, I am in your shoes, Squawker. Organize a neighborhood watch and get ADDU involved. Do not call the police, call ADDU. They are separate from APD and have a different phone number. ADDU is on the ball and will launch an investigation. Those guys are serious about their work. Trust me. I know cause again I am in your shoes right now.
The bad thing is that the drug dealers are taking advantage of loads of rental properties in NW Albany and are moving in to nice neighborhoods and so are the gang bangers (which a lot of gang banger are drug dealers). Watch out Doublegate and Lake Park cause here they come to ruin your neighborhood. Seriously, best advice is DO NOT call APD but ADDU. You can call APD to get their phone number but I wouldn't report the activity to them but to ADDU so you can make sure the info is in the right hands.
Let me catch you doing it. I will not snitch, I will flat out tell on you. Stand in my yard and point to your house with the policeman standing right beside me. Got a piit bull chained up in the backyard with no food or water, I call the humane society, the police, and the news stations. Most folks don't call the police because they themselves are doing something they don't want the police to know about
Just make sure when you call you have blocked your phone number because the drug squad does not mind telling who reported; and yes this is from past experience.
Are you referring to the ADDU daisymae? The ones who do not mind telling who reported? Or do you mean someone in the police department?
Legalize mj. And continue to strive for all of your personal freedoms. Understand the problem is CAUSED by the war on drugs. And please no bible related feedback. Only honest critical thinkers allowed.
In a word.............MOVE.
As far as ADDU, you will not find a finer group of officers that you can trust and under the leadership of their Commander, it will remain that way. As far as reporting "who" called, that is a flat out "lie". I remember hundreds of calls that my former department received (not APD) and I have never heard anyone complain that their identification was released by ADDU. Trust them, get involved with your surroundings and report any activity tht does not appear to be normal and this whole town will begin to see a big difference.
