DCPD: Habitual shoplifter wanted in Feb. 5 theft

ALBANY, Ga. — A 49-year-old man has made a name for himself as a shoplifter.

Curtis Brazier is known to officers for his habitual shoplifting and other theft-by-taking crimes, said Dougherty County Police Department Sgt. Chad Kirkpatrick.

“He has a long list of shoplifting and theft by taking,” Kirkpatrick said. “His next conviction could be a felony because of repeat offenses.”

In an attempt to hide about $15 in stolen merchandise under his pants, Brazier tucked Dove deodorant packs in a pair of pantyhose he wore under the pants about 4:20 p.m. Feb. 5, Kirkpatrick said. Brazier also took two packs Bicycle playing cards, he added.

The manager at the South Westover Boulevard Dollar General store confronted Brazier as he left the store, Kirkpatrick said. Brazier handed the deodorant and cards over to the manager.

Brazier then drove away in a 1995 gray Honda Accord with the Georgia tag BCK 7716, Kirkpatrick said. The manager called police and Brazier was identified through the license plate.
