Mosely orders more metal detection in schools

ALBANY, Ga. -- Dr. David Mosely, interim superintendent of the Dougherty County School System, on Tuesday directed principals to increase the frequency of metal detecting wand use in the systems' 26 elementary schools.

Middle and high schools use metal detection daily, and stepping up elementary school use of metal detection will add another level of security confidence.

"No community thinks a tragic act will happen to them, but it can happen anywhere," Mosely said. "We want to know we've done all we can do to protect our students and staff."

Would a Metal Detection Device have stopped the Elementary School Shooter? The Colorado Theater Shooter? The answer is no. Far more needs to be done than Metal Detectors to make schools safe. Just what it is I don't know, because cell phones and guns still show up in prisons, not to mention the drugs. Then there is the slight problem of School Buses, as demonstrated in Alabama. First we have to do something about the people predisposed to this type of action, and we have to make the records public so they cannot buy a legal gun, as the TECH shooter did dispite his mental problems. It isn't magazine capacity, or assault guns, it is the one behind the trigger.

And what they eventually want is nobody behind the trigger except somebody controlled by the State. Hear that buzzing overhead? It's a drone controlled from 1000 miles away so errbodddy got to act right (except criminals who are just trying to even the score with The Man.)

Give the guy a break. It's a good grab for media time and it looks like he's doing something. It's an improvement over sponsoring a charter school for 50 kids." Earth to Youngblood, Earth to Youngblood, come in please."
