SHELLMAN, Ga. — Randolph Southern School will close its doors at the end of the current school year.
Headmaster Wendy Lamb confirmed Tuesday that the decision to shutter the 200-plus pupil private school was made Monday night at a meeting of the 14-member RSS Board of Trustees.
"We will be closing at the end of the school year," Lamb said. "The decision was made at last night's meeting of the trustees. We will be releasing a statement later this week, but it will take us some time to put it together."
Randolph-Southern, which educates students from grades three through 12, was incorporated in 1966.
When reached by phone late Tuesday, RSS Board Chair Bubba Curry said he was not yet ready to comment on the closure, but said he would discuss the matter more fully later today.
The school had reportedly been facing financial issues and declining enrollment over the past several years.

According to GISA website ,115 students in K-3 - 12. Nowhere near the " 200 plus" as reported. Come back when you have your facts straight .
