Restaurant customer threatened with knife

ALBANY, Ga. — A customer was threatened with a knife as she waited to buy lunch on Thursday at a local fast food restaurant, according to Albany Police.

Shawanda Warren said she was waiting in the drive-through line at Checkers restaurant, 110 S. Slappey Blvd., when she was approached by someone with a knife. Another reason to keep your doors locked and your windows closed until you are at the order point and again at the pickup point.

He probably wanted to buy a cigarette. There are places you can go to buy 1 cigarette. And every dollar they get then run and get a hit. It may be crack, but I can bet it is not food.

I bet Shawanda said to Shanel, "You better get back girl or i'am gonna knock yo weeve outch yo head." Only in Albany would you be assaulted at Checkers.

I have asked the City before for them to make an ordinance regarding panhandling since so much of it goes on and keeps getting worse. Some are harmless but some you do not know what to expect from them. I was blocked in my car once by one and had to call the police. It can be very scary when they get threatening. I was of course, blown off by Alfred Lott by my request. Perhaps Taylor would be willing to ask the city attorney about the growing problem?

Nice, this is why I eat at nicer establishments, example, The Windsor Hotel in Americus, where you enjoy fine dining, while not having to worry about crime, upgrade your lives ladies and gentlemen.

What's nice about Americus, T'ville & Moultrie - - - it's not Albany!

The Windsor in Americus is an excellent resturant. If you haven't eaten at the Windsor, you are missing out.
