ALBANY, Ga. — An former Albany woman who had just moved to a new job in Tennessee was killed in the airplane crash which occurred Wednesday near the Thomson-McDuffie County Airport.
Tiffany Porter, 28, was among the victims identified by authorities.
The NTSB conducted its on-site investigation Friday and reported that the both pilots survived the crash. All five of the fatalities were passengers, including Porter.
Investigators say they do not know if the plane touched down briefly before the crash. Media reports said the black box recorder has not been found.
Porter had recently left her job at Albany Vascular Center and had been associated with Vein Guys Clinic in Tennessee for just three days. The Alabama native was traveling on the airplane that was reportedly owned by the clinic which she just joined.
Porter was hired by the Nashville, Tenn., company as an ultrasound technologist and was in the middle of training.
A spokesperson for Vein Guys said Porter apparently was moving to Nashville to be closer to her boyfriend. They said she is survived by her sister, mother and father.
