ALBANY, Ga. -- From the 27 Dougherty County School System teachers who were chosen to represent their schools as teachers of the year, a screening committee has selected eight finalists to vie for the title of DCSS Teacher of the Year.
A community selection committee started observing the finalists in the classroom on Monday and will continue through March 8. The district winner will be announced at the annual Teacher of the Year and Retired Educators Banquet, which will be hosted by Monroe Comprehensive High School on April 25.
