Members of the Albany Fire Department remove their equipment after extinguishing a kitchen fire at 1101 Sylvandale Court around 7 p.m. Thursday. The blaze is said to have started from food cooking on a stove. There were no reported injuries. (Feb. 28, 2013)
ALBANY, Ga. — The Albany Police Department responded to at least 26 incidents on Wednesday into the early hours of Thursday, available reports show. Incidents included:
— Thefts by taking on the 700 block of Dorsette Avenue, the 300 block of Slater King Drive, the 600 block of McArthur Street, the 200 block of Ebony Lane, the 1900 block of West Whitney Avenue and the 1500 block of Radium Springs Road;
— Wanted persons on the 200 block of Pine Avenue and the 800 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;
— Burglary on the 500 block of Don Cutler Sr. Drive;
— Burglary in the first degree on the 300 block of South Mock Road;
— Entering auto on the 1000 block of Pine Avenue;
— Aggravated assault on the 800 block of West Gordon Avenue;
— Use of city parks at night on the 700 block of Willie Pitts Road;
— Criminal trespass on the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue, the 2000 block of Stratford Drive, the 400 block of South McKinley Avenue and the 1300 block of Mercantile Drive;
— Terrorist treats and acts on the 1900 block of North Slappey Boulevard;
— Disorderly conduct on the 1500 block of Henri Avenue;
— Unruly child on the 1700 block of West Oakridge Drive;
— Reckless conduct on the 900 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;
— Criminal damage to property on the 3600 block of Mayfair Drive;
— Suspended registration on the 900 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;
— Public indecency, saggy pants, on the 1300 block of West Broad Avenue.
DOUGHERTY COUNTY POLICE: The Dougherty County Police Department responded to at least eight calls on Wednesday, available reports show. Incidents included:
— Traffic accidents on the 2100 block of the Liberty Expressway and at Leary Road east of Old Pretoria Road;
— Theft on the 1400 block of the Liberty Expressway;
— Burglary, two calls, on the 3200 block of Sylvester Road;
— Family violence on Radium Springs Road.
ALBANY FIRE DEPARTMENT: The Albany Fire Department responded to at least 11 calls on Wednesday into the early hours of Thursday, available records show. Incidents included a stove fire, an EMS assist, a bedroom fire, a grass fire, activated alarms, a brush fire and unauthorized burns.
DOUGHERTY COUNTY EMS: Dougherty Emergency Medical Services responded to 60 calls on Wednesday, including 47 medical calls and 12 trauma calls. Medical calls included, but were not limited to, seven respiratory issue calls, five mental health calls, four altered mental health calls, four diabetic issue calls and four miscellaneous calls. Trauma calls included, but were not limited to, eight falls and two auto accident victims.
