ALBANY -- Two people sustained injuries when a fire broke out this afternoon at an equipment company, but they did not require a trip to the hospital for treatment.
The fire occurred around 1:30 p.m. on the 2000 block of Liberty Expressway at Skyline Equipment Company. The preliminary reason for the blaze was that an ember may have flown off of an object an employee was working on with a torch, igniting combustible material.
Two people were injured and treated at the scene by emergency medical technicians. They were not taken to the hospital.
Daniel Potter, Albany Fire Department battalion chief, said there was significant damage to interior of structure.
