ALBANY -- Edna Bass John Adams, 90, of Albany died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Palmyra Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Bill Eidenire and Pastor Faron Hamner will officiate.
A native of Crisp County, Edna was a member of Dawson Road Church of Christ for over 60 years. She was in the "Sweet Adelines" singing group, loved to cook, bake, garden and volunteered at the nursing home. She worked with Churchwells for twenty years and Belks Department Store in the ladies clothing section for twelve years. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Carrie Bass, her first husband, Lonnie C. Johns, her second husband, Steve Adams, a daughter Shirley Turner, six brothers, Robert, Murray, Ralph, Hayward, Calvin and Mitchel Bass, two sisters, Flora Bass and Ruby Brame and a grandson, Stephen Robinson.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Robinson and her husband Ralph of Myrtle Beach, SC, a son Lawton Michael Johns and his wife, Nell of Sylvester, GA, four grandchildren, Cindy Robinson, Robin Little, Keith Hackel and Cristie Turner., ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren , several nieces and nephews as well as her devoted friend and caregiver, Mary Hicks.
Memorials may be to Albany Community Hospice, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA 31707.
The family will receive friends and relatives at their residence at 2724 Ledo Rd, Villa 29, Albany, GA 31707 on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 9:00AM until 1:00PM
