CORDELE -- Funeral services for Helen Ruth Spooner of Warwick will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Warwick First Baptist Church. The committal service will follow in Warwick Methodist Cemetery.
The family will meet with friends Tuesday evening at Rainey Family Funeral Services from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Spooner, 93, passed away Saturday at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. She was born in Lee, Madison County, FL and was the daughter of the late Jasper Russell and Mildred Ruth Toole Newsome. She was an active member of Warwick First Baptist Church and had an abiding faith and trust in her God since she was a young girl. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the most loving and unselfish person and had such a joy and love for life. She was an avid gardener, loving flowers and all nature. She also enjoyed traveling and playing bridge. Her greatest joy though was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Spooner is survived by two daughters, Dietra Spooner Chapman and Bobbi Spooner Harris and her husband, Archie, all of Warwick; two grandsons and their wives, Stephen and Heather Chapman of Leesburg and Jamie and Stephanie Chapman of Byromville; six great-grandchildren, Lily Chapman, Chase Chapman, Jake Chapman, Gage Chapman, Soren Chapman and Tessa Chapman; two brothers, Eugene Newsome and his wife, Lorene and Donnie Newsome of Pearson; and one sister, Dot Daniels Miller of Madison.
