ALBANY, Ga. — After his arrest for parole violation, officers charged 42-year-old Waymond Clyde Jefferson Jr. with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, stated an Albany Police Department report.
A parole officer picked up Jefferson at 5106 Barrington Drive after 2:20 p.m. Monday, the report stated. He was taken to the Law Enforcement Center where officers interviewed him about a before 9:30 p.m. Saturday armed robbery at the Sleep Inn on Dawson Road.
Police had already charged 34-year-old Michael Whittaker Arrested with the robbery. Whittaker was arrested at about 9 a.m. Sunday. In addition to the charges on the armed robbery, he is charged with possession of cocaine. Both men remain in jail without bond, stated the Dougherty County Jail automated information system.
The victim, Richard Reeder, 31, of Cartersville, reported that two men had robbed him of his wallet and work-truck keys at the motel, then ran away.
The two suspects Reeder described wore army-style camouflage pants and black jackets, one a hoodie, the other a puffy jacket.
