DECATUR, Ga. — DeKalb County police say a man caught driving a stolen minivan was run over by the vehicle when he tried to flee from officers.
DeKalb police Lt. Dane Cunningham tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution an officer spotted the stolen Dodge Voyager minivan and a Dodge Ram pickup truck following each other around 3:45 a.m. Thursday.
When officers got behind the vehicles, they say the driver of the minivan jumped from the vehicle while it was still moving. The man was hit by the minivan, which continued over an embankment.
The 25-year-old man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was at Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition. Cunningham says the man faces auto theft charges.
The pickup truck was later recovered, but no suspects were found.

What a great story! I hope his condition destabilizes. But his treatment is probably at taxpayers' expense so I revise and extend my remarks to read: I hope he gets well soon and walks with a permanent limp.

Minivan fighting back? Hah, this is too funny...getting ran over by the very vehicle he just stole.
