ALBANY, Ga. — Shots cut the air after midnight Thursday at a fight on the 500 block of Cotton Avenue.
According to reports, officers are investigating the Friday morning shooting at which 45-year-old Sherill Everett and 36-year-old Donnell McCoy were injured.
Reports stated McCoy attempted to break up a fight between his sister Cabina McCoy, no age available, and another woman. During the fight an unknown male accompanying the unknown woman pulled a gun, fired and struck Donnell McCoy. A stray bullet struck Everett.
The injured were taken to Phoebe Putney memorial Hospital. Everett was discharged Friday and no information was available on McCoy, a hospital spokeswoman said.
ALBANY POLICE: Albany police responded to at least 61 incidents Thursday and into the early hours of Friday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:
— Burglary on the 2000 block of Tompkins Avenue, the 1200 block of Clark Avenue, the 2000 block of Waddell Avenue, the 1300 block of Stuart Avenue and the 1000 block of North Slappey Boulevard;
— Motor vehicle theft on the 1500 block of East Tift Avenue;
— Entering auto on the 2600 block of Cardinal Grove Court, the 2400 block of Dawson Road and the 2200 block of North Slappey Boulevard;
— Non-payment for gas on the 1500 block of North Slappey Boulevard;
— Financial card fraud on the 400 block of Third Avenue;
— Recovered property, a bicycle on the 500 block of Poplar Street;
— Missing person on the 500 block of Swift Street;
— Disorderly conduct on the 200 block of Mitchell Avenue;
— Identity fraud on the 1900 block of Riverview Circle and 1100 block of Avalon Avenue;
— Missing juvenile on the 2400 block of Habersham Road;
— Terroristic threats and acts on the 200 block of Pinebluff Road;
— Theft by taking on the 400 block of Ebony Lane and the 3100 block of Newton Road;
— Animal at large on the 500 block of Florence Drive;
— Battery (domestic) on the 800 block of Cedar Avenue;
— Property damage (domestic) on the 800 block of Cameo Lane;
— Domestic on the 1700 block of South Madison Street;
— Domestic (unfounded) on the 800 block of Willie Pitts Jr. Road, the 1300 block of South Van Buren Street, the 900 block of Mobile Avenue, the 100 block of Force Drive and the 900 block of South Street.
DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least eight calls, according to police reports.
Police responded to incidents including:
— Vehicle crash involving a deer on the 4800 block of Gillionville Road;
— Two traffic arrests on the 2400 block of Radium Springs Road, three on the 200 block of Pine Bluff Road, one on the 1400 block of South Mock Road and on on the 300 block of East Oakridge Drive.
DOUGHERTY COUNTY EMS: The Dougherty County Emergency Medical Service responded to 66 calls on Thursday.
There were 45 medical calls and 21 trauma calls. Medical Calls and trauma calls included, but were not limited to, 10 chest pains, six respiratory issues, two diabetic issues, one altered mental status, one obstetrics, 23 various medical calls, eight vehicle crash victims, seven falls and three lacerations.
