Two shot after early-morning fight

ALBANY, Ga. — Two people were shot after an early morning fight Friday, police officials say.

The Albany Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured Sherill Everett, 45, and 36-year-old Donnell McCoy. Initial reports are that a fight broke out between two females when McCoy attempted to break it up. At some point, an unknown male pulled a weapon and fired, striking McCoy and indirectly hitting Everett.

The shooting occurred just after midnight on the 500 block of Cotton Avenue.

A spokesperson from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital said Friday that Everette had been discharged from the hospital and that there was no information on McCoy.

Anyone believe the weapon was possessed legally?

A ban on weapons would mean only the criminals would have weapons! We must not let this happen!!

My question - they didn't know the male that shot them? And I'm sure the taxpayer will be picking up their hospital bill.

No, just like some of them claim not to know who the Baby's Daddy is. It is that old "DON'T SNITCH" mentality

Let's rush out now and blindly pass some laws so that we can fool ourselves into thinking that we've accomplished something that will make a difference even though it will make absolutely no difference. Then next time we can go a bit farther and then we can go a bit farther the next time and maybe one day we'll wake up and realize that "you can't legislate morality nor eliminate stupidity, insanity, or the sin that compels people.
