Charlie B'S owner Frankie Tillman listens as testimony is given during the first part of the Albany City Commission's alcohol license revocation hearing Monday morning.
ALBANY, Ga. — Albany city commissioners heard evidence this morning against renewing alcohol licenses for two of five nightclubs that were cited by the Albany Police Department and the city's Code Enforcement department for the severity of complaints lodged against the businesses.
The owners of Charley B's Sports Bar & Grill and Club Xscape responded to a number of police reports filed against patrons of the two clubs Monday, and Club Xscape owner Tim Shelton answered to charges of underage patrons in his establishment.
The commission will hold a similar hearing with officials of Club Legends Tuesday and with officials of Big Daddy's Lounge and the Sandtrap Club and Lounge on Wednesday.

Should DMV revoke driver's licences because of to many car accidents? Its called being a responsible adult. Those that are not pay the consequences.

They do. If you get enough points on your licence then you will lose it. Same applies for bars. To much trouble at your bar and you can lose your licence.

Perhaps I am wrong but it seems most of the problems we have with bars come after midnight. Why not have the bars close, and actually empty out, at 12?

No problem with Charlie B's. I am close to them. Don't hear anything from them. I hear more from the ole Shackleford place hoedowns. This is the sticking point. If they catch underage kids in there regularly, close 'em down. Go for it. No mercy. Show 'em we mean business.
More 'n likely my city commissioner will try to find a job for himself or a family member before he decides how to vote.
