PELHAM -- Zella Mae Layton Adams, 93, of Pelham, GA, died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Pelham with Dr. Beau Cooksey officiating and interment to follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Roger Daughtry, Bill Walton, John Rich, Carl Long, Les Pollock, and Lynn Autry.
She was born in Mitchell Co., GA on November 18, 1919 to the late James Francis and Ida Leverette Layton. She was a retired business woman and a member of First Baptist Church of Pelham and of the Grace Bible Study Group. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Adams
Survivors include her sons, Tony Adams, Larry Adams and wife, Kathy, Jimmy Adams and wife, Betty, all of Pelham, GA; grandchildren, Garrard Adams, Julia Merritt, Shanya Hawkins, Christa Pierini, Spencer Adams, Michael C. Adams; great grandchildren, Tyler Watson, Taylor and Brayden Pierini, Elizabeth Adams, Philip Adams; a special friend, Charlotte Pickering, and numerous nieces and nephews
Visitation will tonight, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Jamerson Funeral Home, Pelham, GA.
