West Albany's Marketplace relocates

ALBANY, Ga. -- An Albany furniture, jewelry and antiques store, chock full of unique items and one-of-a-kind pieces, has just finished relocating.

The Marketplace finished its move from an area near the Albany Mall to one right off Westgate Drive about a week ago, owners Randy and Lauren Bailey said.

"We decided to move because we heard some rumors that the building we were in was going to be demolished, and we happened to find a place that we could own rather than rent," Lauren Bailey said.

The deal, which was brokered by Mary Carter of Murray Webb & Associates, puts the Marketplace between A Place on the Point and Radiance Anti-Aging & Body Sculpting in a shopping plaza off Westgate Drive.

"It's a good location, and any time you have the option to buy versus renting ... We felt like it was a good decision," Bailey said.

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Its phone number is (229) 496-1822, and more information is available online on the Marketplace's Facebook page.

The Bailey's make eviction" sound like a well planned business decision. Sellers beware.
