Moments of Reflections for Mrs. Luerine Davis-Jackson;
A Time to Be Born... Luerine Jackson was born April 22, 1933 in Leesburg, Georgia to the late Jeff and Josephine Davis. She was educated in the Calhoun County school system. She joined the Greater Second Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend C.W. Heath.
A Time to Sow... She was joined in holy matrimony to Johnny E. Jackson for over fifty years, who preceded her in death. She was a volunteer in the public school system for over thirty years. She was a well received caterer who believed in cooking from scratch. She always believed in a hot meal and welcomed whomever to her table. She was a dedicated and devoted family woman, who taught her children the value of hard work and a good education. She would always say; prepare yourself today for a brighter future.
A Time to Reap... The fulfillment and joys of her life was her family. She leaves to cherish her legacy; three sons, L.D. (Joyce) Davis, Johnny Jr. (Cheryl) Jackson, and Ricky Jackson. Five daughters, Josie (Roosevelt) Leverett, Johnnie Jackson Williams of St. Petersburg Florida, Nettie Jackson of Atlanta GA, Geneva (K.D.) Taylor, Linda (Ulysses) Austin; all of Albany GA and one preceded her in death, Lizzie Mae Williams.
To further fulfill her and add even more sunshine to her world, she had several Grand Children whom she had a special hand in raising that she leaves to further cherish memories and carryout her legacy and strength; Vontresa Stephens, Sherinita Jordan, Marlon Jackson, Lynconia Sims, Kimberly Jones, Brian Jackson, Sharavious Jackson, and Jabari Monette.
Twenty-three grand children, forty-four great grand children, and seventeen great-great grand children. Eight siblings who preceded her in death; Jessie Mae Johnson, Fannie Mae Ford, Rosie Lee Chester, Jewell Clemmons, Gladys Gatewood, Willie C. Ford, Henry Ford, & Joseph Davis. One brother-in-law Charlie (Trudy) Jackson and a sister-in-law Eva MaGee both of Albany, GA and a Special Niece, Mary Williams.
Time to Rest... On Monday morning, January 14, 2013, God quietly whispered to Luerine, "Servant of mine, well done thy good and faithful servant, the battle is fought, the victory is won, now enter thy Master's joy."
