Obama plans first step in gun takeaways

Letter to the Editor

So Barrry Soetoro, aka Barack Obama, wants to spend another $500 million of which we don’t have, to fight gun violence in the name of protecting “the children.” So let’s get this straight: It’s OK to sell guns to Mexican drug cartels via Obama’s “Fast and Furious” program, but we must “regulate” the types of guns sold to Americans. And we can give Lebanon 1,000 automatic weapons and 38 million rounds of ammunition and 20 F-16s to Mursi in Egypt, with no background check required.

Let’s also ignore the mental status of the people who have committed these mass shootings and just blame everything on the guns. Let’s also ignore the fact that so-called “assault weapons” were already banned in Connecticut, where the Sandy Hook shootings took place.

The worst part is, if succesful, this sets a dangerous precedent for future government involvement. Today, they ban “assault weapons.” Ten years from today, they ban revolvers. Once big brother gets his foot in the door, he usually doesn’t stop. But since he is so serious about gun control, Barack Obama really needs to set a good example for the rest of us and get rid of his armed bodyguards ... for the children, of course.

I want to write and personally apologize for the government.

I am 49 years old, white, male, ex-military, father of two living and one child who past away after 3 hours after being born; [which I was able to hold in my arms as she slowly past away.]

The government, (not the American government I was taught in school as a child) has done a great injustice to your community and the nation as a whole.

I would hope as a community; like my community in South West Georgia, a small town named Leesburg, would understand we as a people we must protect our own communities, as we protect our own families.

You know as I know, it is the community at large who is to blame for what happen. In our small city we have armed police personnel in our schools and though it may not prevent such actions which happened in your community from happening in ours.

We rest easy in the knowledge we have made an informed decision to place armed police personnel in our schools.

You and your community can make a real difference from this horrific crime and make America a safer place.

You know, if they took all the guns from every person who has the right to have a gun legally, that it is the person who does not have the rights to have a gun legally, who is going to commit a crime.

I KNOW, I would not allow the government to use what happen under my government-ship, in my community to endanger and allow other Americans to die.

The next crime to our communities could be done with gasoline, will the government then go to such lengths as to ban gasoline.

Knowledge, information, and common sense.

You can make a difference,

Thank you,

Greg Fincher, an American.

It isn't the Presidents plan, it is the fervent wish of his supporters. Now, after Farakan's comments about Jews and others, when will the President order the fully Automatic weapons his body guards carry confiscated? If you have lived in Dawson for any length of time, I am sure you have seen them and been assured they are legal by Local Law Enforcement. That means they are Title III, and subject to stricter controls than Assault Weapons, so their confiscation should be a simple matter based on Farakan's threats and comments. For I believe they are owned thru a Security Company his people own.

I, for one, am certainly glad to see liberals suddenly decide to start "caring about the children," considering that until now they didn't have much of a problem with 1.2 million of them being killed every year.

Complete hypocrisy on the part of the Democrats and the Liberals.

They don't have a problem with abortion either. Talk about a president that talks out of both sides of his mouth. On one side he talks about the children getting killed, on the other side he supports abortion. Hypocrisy at it's best.

For those that travel outside of their immediate community, they already know that there are vast opinions and views to consider. Fear should be attacked with debate and respect (which many are fighting against).
