CORDELE -- Funeral services for Betty H. Knight will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Centerville Methodist Church Cemetery in Blakely, Ga. at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends Friday, January 25, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m at the funeral home.
Mrs. Knight died at Crisp Regional Hospital on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. She was a native of Blakely, Ga. and the daughter of the late Henry Herbert Houston and the late Vera Beulah DuBose Houston. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her husband: John Wesley Knight, Sr.; her son: John Wesley Knight, Jr.; her brothers: Carl Kenneth Houston, Billy Van Houston and Gray Houston; her son-in-law: David Ray; a sister-in-law: Hilda Houston and a brother-in-law: Thad Davis. She was a retired engineer for Bellsouth and a member of Penia Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Sheryl M. Ray of Cordele; brother: Jim Houston and his wife Hilda of Albany, GA.; sister: Bobbie Davis and her husband Thad of Cummings, GA.; grandchildren: Ericka S. Martin; great-grandchildren: Brianna N. Redding and Kenneth Scott Redding; and several nieces and nephews.
