WARWICK -- Funeral services for CMSAF (RET) John D. Williams, 93, will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Warwick United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Williams died at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. He was a native of Denton, Ga. and the son of the late George Williams and the late Isabel Andrews Williams. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by two brothers, Horace Williams and Tillman Williams.

He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and served in the Pacific during WWII. Mr. Williams also retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the Warwick United Methodist Church and the National Rifle Association. His love of outdoors was shown by his love of fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Mary Frances Williams of Warwick; his sons: Gary Williams and his wife Judy of New Bern, N.C. and Steve Williams and his wife Young-Ok of Norcross, Ga.; his daughters: Lynn Williams of Cordele; Jane Holman and her husband David of Watkinsville, Ga., Dale Yarbrough and her husband Otis of King, N.C., and Gale Williams of Eatonton, Ga.; his sister: Mildred Powell of Denton, Ga.; his sister-in-law: Marie Williams of Brunswick, Ga.; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren , two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
