ALBANY, Ga. — A sophomore at Albany State University has won $28,888 from the Georgia Lottery playing the White Ice 8's instant scratch off game.

Teporschne James of Montezuma claimed her prize Tuesday at the Lottery's district office in Macon.

James, 33, is the mother of three children. She bought the ticket at Barkers Market in Montezuma.

James, who has a birthday in February, said the prize is a great birthday present. She and her husband, Mark, say they plan to use a portion of the windfall toward their children and for home improvements.
