Right, we're only working our way to 60 million killed since Roe v Wade. Not very interesting is it? Let's see......how does that compare to Hitler's Holocaust of 6 million Jews.......yeah it's pretty boring.
Only in America can you be pro-death penalty, pro-war, pro-unmanned drone bombs, pro-nuclear weapons, pro-guns, pro-torture, pro-land mines, and still call yourself ‘pro-life'
60 million unwanted babies. I wonder how that would have turned out.
One could have cured cancer, been president, helped fight global hunger...etc
I guess we will never know as they were never given a chance to be an individual.
Agreed, Eagle. Great points. God only knows the answer.
Is male ejaculate when not engaged in heterosexual coitus the same as abortion? Those sperm could have been the next ...
I hope you are playing devils advocate, because that was a stupid comment.
Patrick at least you acknowledge them as babies. That's a start. Now let's review: 60 million dead babies. And all this outraged gun control talk over a much smaller number. I'm not minimizing it, I'm just pointing out how schizophrenic we are when we pick our "issues".
YAWN. WHO CHOOSES THESE SQUAWS?
As I explained a couple of days ago.....bubbasmithredneck's momma selects the squawks of the day.
You are and your mama too probably support the planned parenthood movement too
I think that the most dangerous place for all of us is living in a country where the few rich, get richer through greed that creates less for the rest of us.
The rich getting richer creates less for the rest of us? --absurd! I'm a blue collar, middle class worker and the only thing that kept me from getting richer is me. I don't blame it on someone else and I take responsibility for my life. My fear is that people thinking the way you do is going to take away from me what it has taken a lifetime to accumulate.
ihope....do you teach Sociology or Black Liberation Theology at ASU? If not, you should. You could get Jeremiah Wright to come give a few guest lectures. If you really hope for Albany, you should drop the O'bama plan for division and discrimination by wealth. Oh did you know that John Kerry is the richest person in the government?
It's not his money; his wife is a Heinz, from Heinz ketchup. It's hers.
Right, because it is the greedy CEO making millions that is the problem. What about actors who do nothing but spout liberal BS in their off time making 20 million plus to play pretend in a movie...they are not greedy are they? What about Oprah who is worth a billion dollars...she is not greedy is she? She could give half of that to the government to help take care of you and still buy anything she wanted to....but she won't because it is HER money. What about all the democratic politicians who are worth millions (including Obama)? Why are they not greedy for not giving everything they have in the name of the greater good? What about Al Gore? He spouts BS about global warming but that did not stop him from selling his tv station to Al Jarrad a terrorist and oil funded tv station and making a cool 100 million from the deal....no he is not greedy is he.
It is only the corporations in America who actually provide JOBS that are the greedy ones.
Hypocrisy at its best.
Please, you left out John Kerry, probably the richest of the law makers.
Because of the ketchup we eat..and tomato sauce, etc etc....thanks to Heinz.....not because he made the money......because he married into it.
How true.....how true..most get confused about what was sold tho...Al Jazeera is a network owned by the Qatari government, which in turn is run by the Al Thani family, (Qatar is a hereditary constitutional monarchy governed by the ruling Al Thani family with a council of ministers, yadda, yadda, yadda.) Anyway, the thing that was sold was CURRENT TV, not the whole network, which was Al Jazerra, which was not owned by Al Gore. Sheesh. Have you ever seen some of the crap on Current TV? Be thankful the Al Thani family bought Current TV..my god the fare on Current TV stinks. But Al did make a few milllion from the deal so now he can go forth and stop global warming, we hope. Oprah is a selfish hog...only gives out a few bucks here and there to make it look good...she could do so much more than she does if she wanted to but is too busy interviewing doping fools who ride bikes. With what it took to set up that crap she could have fed and clothed a multiude of inner city folks. As far as the politicans worth millions, why do you think so many of them went into politics? For the good of the people? Yeah right....to line their pockets. You are certainly right about hyprocrisy at its best, huh?
I never watched anything on Current TV although via other sources I was aware of the garbage on the network.
I think I said Al Gore sold to Al Jazerra not that Al Jazerra was sold and owned by Al Gore. I actually called it Al Jarrad because I simply did not care to look up the correct name. I figured everyone would know who I meant. Current TV was sold for 500 million of which Al got 100 million. The hypocrisy for him comes from stating that Al Jazerra aligns better with his ideals and the ideals of Current Tv...better than Glenn Beck. This in spite of his constant preaching about global warming and oil being a bad thing.
Oh boy, blame the liberals ....typical simple minded rhetoric
For your own safety then, you better leave. Take your like minded friends with you.
The most dangerous place for a child is stuck in a room listening to Rush Limbaugh.....
It has taken only a few responses to elucidate why this country is quickly swirling down the toilet.
Excellent squawk. Since abortion has been made "legal", 55 million babies have been murdered through abortion. Just because it is legal doesn't make it right. Slavery was legal at one time also, but that doesn't make it right. In the book of the Apocalypse or some might call it Revelations, it says "the blood of the martyrs cries out for vengeance". Come judgment day the blood of these aborted babies will be crying out for vengeance, and it won't be pretty.
Do men commit abortion/murder when they 'please' themselves? Most males at 14 start killing potential babies several times a day.
Being a woman, I don't want anyone telling me what I can do with my body, just like you don't want anyone telling you men what you can and cannot do with your bodies...the squawk is boring and old news....
It's two bodies...........let's be honest.
Your decision what to do with your body took place many weeks ago. Now you are "eating for two" as the saying goes. There's another "ittybittyme" inside you now. Right? Just because they are dependent on you for life (just like ten minutes after they are born) doesn't mean they should be taken out with the trash.
"Your decision what to do with your body took place many weeks ago."
I don't believe I have ever heard it put more accurately or succinctly. Props.
Here is a thought....use the many methods of birth control available to you that prevent pregnancy rather than abortion to end a life after the fact. If the baby you are aborting could talk what do you think he or she would say about being aborted?
Don't usually agree with you but today I do
Irony... on my screen next to the squawk, there's an ad regarding babies born in 2012.
It is murder.
As is killing an unarmed intruder with your AR-15.
Would you pause to ask your intruder whether they had a gun? Your answer might be a bullet through the heart.
Thankfully there was an article posted on this very website that illustrates my point. Simply brandishing the weapon will scare off the intruder. No need to "shoot to kill."
Taking an innocent life vs. defending yourself or your home from a criminal. Same thing? Are you serious?
And of course the AR15 must be part of the recipe. Because it's much more humane if you defend your kids with a shotgun than with an evil black rifle.
Are you defending yourself if the intruder is unarmed?
I'm not saying you should ask him or her to have lemonade, but brandishing your weapon should be option A, not shooting first and analyzing the situation second.
If you don't want to get shot don't intrude in my house, easy right.
As long as you don't murder the intruder.
Who in the world would advocate shooting first then analyzing the situation? That's a great straw argument with an obvious false premise. It would be as intellectually honest as pro-lifers stating that the pro-choicers want to kill babies even if the parents are against it.
Just because you catch an intruder in your house, doesn't mean that you are free to murder them. However do have a right to see what they are doing. If at any time you fear for your life or great bodily harm for yourself or your family, then lead will most likely be flying from a semi-automatic handgun. I'm just saying thats a little different than choosing to kill an innocent baby. Your mileage may vary.
So, in your opinion Sherwood, I should take the time to have a conversation with an intruder who has entered my house in the middle of the night without my permission?
I can see it now. Hey intruder, are you armed and a threat to my family? Yes? Okay then I now have a right to shoot you if you do not leave. No? Well then go about your business because even though you are trespassing and stealing my stuff I can't stop you because you are not armed. I also am to assume that during that conversation if said intruder is armed he will have the decency not to shoot me in the middle of the conversation and that he will answer the question honestly.
If you enter a house or business that you do not own and should not be in then you run the risk of getting shot and killed.
No, that is not what I am saying. First, I am pointing out that many who are against murdering unborn babies are for murdering an intruder "no questions asked" so to speak. I am not saying to literally ask the intruder if he or she intends to harm you, but your first move shouldn't be to try to kill the individual. You are not judge, jury, and executioner.
There is just a lot of "big talk" about how, "I would murder that S.O.B. if he breaks into my house without a second thought." Why not handle it the way the gentleman did in Athens? He pulled out his gun and told the intruder to get out or be shot.
In my eyes you are no better than they for blindly killing an intruder. If they are truly posing a threat to your family then do what you can to incapacitate them, but don't try and murder them from the get go.
I agree that the first option should not be to kill. At the same time I am not going to give someone who is in my house uninvited the opportunity to kill me or my family.
What is to stop an armed intruder from firing and killing me as I give him the warning that I am armed and prepared to use it? If I give a verbal warning and die as a result does that make me morally superior? I am just as dead.
The guy in Athens is a great story and reinforces the idea that guns are used to stop crime. At the same time one has to ask the question...what would have happened if the intruder was also armed and prepared to use the gun in the commission of the crime? Would the guy in Athens still be alive?
I can certainly see your viewpoint, as any sane person should not want to kill another human being if it can be avoided. At the same time I can see the other side of the argument and what risk do you put yourself and your family in by issueing a verbal warning to an intruder thus allowing them to fire first? Verbal warning may scare 99 intruders away but what about the 100th intruder who has a gun and uses it as you warn him?
Great points, USTPC!
The intruder is breaking the law dumba$$. The baby is an inocent victim of people to dumb to use birth controll.
Glad to see you can make your point without name calling.
*TOO not "to"
The intruder doesn't deserve to be murdered. Self defense is one thing, but murdering someone is a completely different situation.
With birth control being cheap (extremely cheap with insurance), and condoms being sold in almost every store (given away at health department and schools), it is easy and inexpensive to practice responsible sex. Oh yeah, you can also practice abstinence if you really don't have any business being pregnant.
There will be one-off situations that are more difficult to understand if you haven't been through it yourself before (rape, health of mother...etc).
Legal or illegal....this has become a moot point. It boils down to a woman's morality. She will get an abortion whether or not a court says she can get one. There is nothing that will stop her. Why don't we stop arguing this? This is a MORAL issue...not one that the court will ever decide....and even if Roe v. Wade is ever overturned, and I doubt I will ever see it in my lifetime, it still boils down to this.....it is a woman's MORAL issue. This is the last thing I will ever say on the subject.
Using that logic, why have any rules or laws? How many unborn babies will be saved if Roe v. Wade gets overturned?
Abortions are legal. I am glad they are. It is a moral intervention for pregnancies caused by incest or rape and for pregnancies that are life threatening to the mother. There are less and less abortions for other reasons as better education and birth control methods develop. Keep in mind some groups oppose any use of birth control methods, the pill, the morning after shot, condoms, etc. etc. For those people who are illiterately pro-life you best quit complaining about the government taking your money to feed the children and crack heads because you are going to be buying them if legal abortion is discontinued.
I'm going to be buying children and crack heads if abortion is discontinued? What the heck am I going to do with crack heads?
You will be supporting them. Addicted mothers produce addicted children.
What is your stance on abortion for reasons other than health of the mother or rape/incest?
Woman's body...it should be her decision what to do...period
Unless she was raped, she made her decisions earlier. She chose to engage in sex without protective measures in place.
Why did everyone assume that the point was abortion? A fetus is subject to: alcohol, drugs of all sorts-legal, illegal, prescribed or not, second hand smoke, teenage parents, illiterate parent-grandparents-greatgrandparents, toxic foods, high fat, high sodium, high sugar, environmental toxins, the water, car exhaust, methane gasses....
Get off your moral horse. It smells like a barn here.
Where you dropped as a child?
Every day I have to stay here, I wonder that very thing. Only when I wonder, i wonder with words spelled correctly. I am working on making my leave, worry not.
I still wonder why everyone assumed that the squawk was about abortion; that question has not been answered.
*I not "i"
I would assume because the alternative would be an idiotic squawk.
