ALBANY, Ga. — Theatre Albany Artistic Director Mark Costello has announced that the theater will conduct auditions at 7 p.m. Sunday for the comedy “The Fox on the Fairway” by Ken Ludwig. Theatre Albany is located at 514 Pine Ave.
Costello said the play is a tribute from Ken Ludwig (“Lend Me A Tenor,” “Moon Over Buffalo”) to the great English farces of the 1930s-40s. “The Fox On the Fairway” takes audiences on a hilarious romp, which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it’s a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers’ classics.
Costello is looking to cast three men and three women. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Rehearsals will begin in late February with performances scheduled for March 15-24. For further information, contact the theatre at (229) 439-7193 or go to the theatre’s website at www.theatrealbany.com.
