ALBANY, Ga. -- After arresting a woman for hindering an investigation, officers want to talk to her son about a Sunday knife assault, an Albany Police Department report states.
Bobby Thomas, 59, suffered a knife wound to his head and sought treatment at Phoebe North after 2 a.m. Sunday. He didn’t provide information regarding the knife attack before he was discharged from the hospital.
Leola Butler, 55, was charged with giving a false written statement and hindering the apprehension of a criminal after officers interviewed her. She remained in jail Tuesday in lieu of $5,000 bond, the Dougherty County Jail automated information system reported.
Butler’s son, 23-year-old Shinar Edwards, is wanted for aggravated assault and possession of a knife in commission of a crime, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.
He is described as 5 feet 8 and weighing about 151 pounds.
