RiverQuarium worth Albany’s support

Letter to the editor

Citizens of Albany need to be thankful that Emily Jean McAfee has stepped forward to help secure the future of the Flint RiverQuarium and we should all support that effort.

City and county elected representatives need to recognize that the Flint RiverQuarium, like Chehaw, is a key attraction that gives Albany and Dougherty County an important advantage over other cities.

How many other cities in America have two such outstanding and unique attractions? Combine these two with the other great things Albany has, plus an improving economy, and Albany’s future looks much better than most cities.

Let’s not let the Flint RiverQuarium end up as a blight on our city, as it most certainly would if closed.

Move it out of downtown maybe out by Chehaw & it would support its self. The only way your going to get people to downtown Albany is either they work there or your handing out free bees.
